Annual Retreats

________________________

From February through October we open our hearts, homes, and facilities during the retreat weekends. Each retreat provides opportunities to dwell as God’s family and serve one another. Participants assist with meal preparation or clean-up. At check-in, each person is given a daily service responsibility. Before leaving, they pray for the next guests and then deep clean their rooms, baths, and common areas.

Guests provide their own sheets, towels, pillows, blankets, and toiletries. Before the retreat we contact each participant to confirm attendance. Some are housed in homes, others in dormitory-style rooms with shared baths in an old, renovated lodge or a newer log building. We hope that each person will bring a homemade dessert to share for evening meals and paper towels to replenish the supply. We also ask that you attend all the teaching and worship sessions. This is a time to grow together as God’s family!

Because we have limited cell and internet service, a retreat is a precious disconnect from life’s pressures to sequester with the Lord. Tucked along the banks of the north fork of the French Broad River, this is a distinctive ministry known for its love and Christ encounters. We hope the family of There Is More will enjoy walks along the river, views of the waterfalls, or moments seated on a boulder in the Lord’s presence absorbing the music of the river. We pray that each person encounters Jesus Himself.

There is no charge for lodging, meals, speakers’ and worship team’s honoraria, but we are fond of saying, “It will cost you everything!” The Lord has said that those who could, would give on behalf of those who could not give, and we depend on your generosity to continue our mission. Please ask God how He would like you to give. A love bucket, created by the first grateful recipients of ministry, is available for your gifts.

We are so glad you can come, and we pray that you will be blessed!
